I felt the need to share this with you guys.  The following link (and video) is to Toby Turner singing “There’s A Floppy Disk On The Floor”  A pretty good tune.

Reflecting back here…. I haven’t installed a floppy drive in my computer in the last two builds.  So, it’s been approximately 5 years since I’ve had a floppy drive.  :)    I’m a bit proud of that.

Had the artist been able to sing about the “real” floppy disks.  Now that would be well worth it.  A box of those is sitting at my dad’s house.  It would be interesting to dig those suckers out and try to back them up (the games, specifically).

I remember having my wisdom teeth taken out.  My mom drove me home from the dentist and all I remember thinking was all of the cars we were by were race cars.  However, I maintained my composure and just sat there loopy as ever.

Successful USLI Scale Rocket Flight!

We had our scale rocket flight today, south of “South Middle School”.  The scale flight was a Calibur-ISP from Loc Precision.  It achieved an altitude of 1031 ft. The drogue was successfully deployed.  The main parachute deployed successfully at 700 ft.  The only incident we had during flight was the length of time it took for the main parachute to pull out of the nomex deployment bag.  The parachute took until approximately 100 ft off the  ground to be pulled out of the deployment bag and unfold.  The rocket’s main parachute landed in a very small tree (baby tree), and the rest of the rocket below it.  The main parachute and rocket were unharmed.  This flight was a successful test of the dual deployment system, PerfectFlite altimeter, launch rail, and flight procedure.

Below is a slide show of the photos taken during the launch.  Video of the flight is below that.

The house covered in snow

Well, the last site layout was just too much.  A huge eyesore I decided.  This layout however, I like a lot.   One issue is, it will require a fair amount of restructure of how I made the posts, etc.   I’m not too worried about the work required, I’m just worried about being so busy that it will take too long for me to get it all back in order.  Oh well, busy life means a lack of updates/structure I guess.

Another Build Day

USLI rocket build is in full swing.  Today I will be assisting the team members in constructing both the scale (and full scale) rocket.

I ran my first Road Course Legends Cup race.  I must say, that sure is interesting having to keep that small “car” on the track.  It sure doesn’t help that I’m still learning how to set up cars.

There are now setups posted under simRacing.  A friend and fellow racer of mine, will be posting our setups in a semi-organized fashion there.  This is for easy file sharing between us and my dad.

On a final note, I’m loving my PS3.  The Media server works fantastic.  I’m running PS3 Media Server.  The house server which is hosting this program and files cannot properly transcode the video files.  So that is a shame.  I’m also getting some terrible, terrible static(?) through my speakers when I’m trying to play a PS3 game, or music.  I believe a nicer stereo system is the next “big” purchase for me.
